HDR Dynamic Tone Mapping

The Envy analyzes HDR content frame by frame in real time and tone-maps it for your projector and screen, with Highlight, Contrast and Shadow Detail Recovery. It is a natural partner for a JVC D-ILA projector in a dark theatre.

Instant Aspect Ratio Control

The Envy detects the aspect ratio of what you are watching, including IMAX-format scenes, and fits the image to your screen as it changes. It can also trigger JVC lens memories over IP on supported models.

AI Upscaling

Machine-learning upscaling brings Blu-ray, streaming and broadcast sources up to 4K, with AI anamorphic stretch for scope screens. Higher-tier models also upscale to 5K and 8K.

Non-Linear Stretch

Bi-directional non-linear stretch reduces black bars on scope and 16:9 screens, so 16:9 shows can fill a 2.40:1 screen or scope films can fill a 16:9 screen with a natural-looking image.

The Envy Range

The Envy's frame-by-frame HDR tone mapping and instant aspect ratio handling complement a JVC D-ILA projector, especially on a scope screen or with an anamorphic lens.

madVR Labs builds the Envy as a dedicated video processor that sits between your AV receiver and your projector. The Envy Core brings Envy dynamic tone mapping, aspect ratio handling, subtitle management and 1D/3D LUT calibration to smaller theatres and media rooms, and an optional Premium Package adds features and extends the warranty.

The Envy Pro and the flagship Envy Extreme add features such as upscaling to 5K and 8K, and the Extreme adds MotionAI interpolation and geometry correction. Aura Design helps you choose the right model for your JVC projector, screen and sources, then installs and sets it up in your theatre.

JVC & Anamorphic Setups

madVR Labs publishes setup guides for JVC D-ILA projectors, including the NZ series. With an anamorphic lens, the Envy can handle the stretch, and the Envy Extreme's geometry correction can compensate for lens barrel distortion.

Calibration

The Envy supports 3D LUTs up to 256 points per axis and 4,096-point 1D LUTs, and works with calibration software such as Calman and ColourSpace. We can calibrate the Envy and your JVC projector together.

Home Control

The Envy supports IP-based control, and madVR Labs provides integration documents for systems such as Control4, so the processor fits into one-touch movie scenes.
